Okay ladies! I decided on a theme for my 30th birthday party! And the winner is.......Mardi Gras! Now I need your help! Any party ideas? I am going to have a lot of beads, masks, and alcohol, but other than that I am stumped! What are your ideas?
Also, my party is going to be January 31st (a little later than my actual birthday) in Athens, GA. I know that some of my blog friends live in the area, so if you are interested in coming to the party you are definitely on the guest list! Just e-mail me if you are interested!
Thanks in advance for your party tips! I know they will be helpful! I can't wait to read them!!!

Oriental Trading company always has really good deals on mardi gras stuff
We themed rooms in our house for the French Quarter/New Oreans. Kitchen - Pat Obriens and had hurricanes.
Living Room - Cat's Meow and had Karoke
Dinning Room - Harrahs and had a black jack table.
To earn purple beads we had a purple shot, yellow beads a yellow shot, green beads a green shot. I think they were all some sort of schnapps.
You can order some great stuff from Accent Annex (www.accentannex.com)
Oh shoot I have no idea. But I wanted to tell you that it sounded like a blast! I wish I was in the area, because I would definitely come!
What a FANTASTIC idea! I love it! Hmm... I'll have to think on it -- I've been to a lot of great parties...
I love the party theme. It will be a blast. I wish I had some ideas, but I am drawing a blank right now. I love Catholic Runner's though!
A King Cake is a must..

Hope you have a blast!!!
I wish I had ideas...and I also wish I lived closer! :)
I love NOLA! We usually go every year at least once. I love Catholic Runner's ideas and you MUST have a king cake there:) You might also get some feather boas for the girls!!!
Mardi Gras! Great idea! A belated thank you for your award! Hope the party is a blast! Maybe some fun masks?
Heh, from one "Pink Chick" to another, have a Happy Birthday!
ooh, Mardi Gras is fun!
You should definitely do a Kings Cake. It's so much fun.
I second the recommendation from Catholic Runner - Accent Annex is great. I've also ordered from mardigrasoutlet.com. Do loads of balloons for a big effect! You must have beads for sure! I have a great King Cake recipe if you'd like it to try - it's a good bit of work but it's so much fun to make!
Hey! I just started following your blog...it's super cute!!
What a fun theme!
I went to college in New Orleans and you must have Bene's (sp?) these are the most delicious, fattening desserts EVER AND DELICIOUS. You can make them, I believe, at home. I need to find you the correct spelling. Also, Banana's Foster. Totally New Orleans and of course, the Mardi Gras beads oh and for alcoholic beverages you gotta do "Hurricanes". yes, they had those way way before Katrina.
A Mardi Gras theme is a great idea! I just wrote a post on the MyPunchbowl party planning blog about free invitations for Mardi Gras. You can get party ideas and plan your one-of-a-kind Mardi Gras party!
